Solve a problem + step people closer to their potential

This video comes from the Amplify training on books— but could apply to business, churches, nonprofits, courses keynotes… anything. At the core, you MUST solve a problem while ALSO stepping people closer to their potential.

People purchase problem-solvers— not just “stuff.”

As it relates to books and other forms of content / information, the message you carry helps people solve a problem or step into their potential. Generally, it does both— you lead people from where they are to where they’re designed to be.

Each page, each sentence, each story…

… leads them from where they are to where they’re designed to be WHILE OVERCOMING the obstacles in the way.

Take them from their present, overcome the problem, lead them to their potential... all with your unique perspective.

The potential = moving them to where they’re designed to be

Let’s break it down a bit.

First, you lead them towards their potential. That potential might take the form of various things— as the graphic below highlights.

Sometimes, you’re taking them towards—

🏁An elusive result or goal, such as losing weight, running a marathon

🔍 Perspective to live differently— like moving forward after grief or loss, or stepping into the next seasons of life

♻️ Physical, emotional, or spiritual transformation— for instance, overcoming PTSD

👉 New habits, a new way of life— something like budgeting or parenting…

🧐 Increasing their knowledge to accelerate the learning curve— which is what we try to do on this webpage and throughout the Amplify resources.


Note: these aren’t “tidy categories.” I placed them here as I did just to get you thinking about what your message does.

We make a big mistake when we think we’re just entertaining people or imparting information…

LEVEL IT UP.

You can edu-tain (I know, that’s not a word) or info-tain (again, a non-word), but you’re doing FAR MORE than just giving them facts and figures. You’re facilitating life change.

(Other words might be , a combo of entertain and train, but you've got to-- however you do it-- take people somewhere. You don't  just dispense information; you facilitate transformation.)


The problem

Sometimes, you’ve got to tell people WHY they’re having difficulty making it to their intended destination. (If it was easy, they would already be there; they wouldn’t need your help.)

That is, you’ve got to show them the problems that are sabotaging their success.

By the way…

Many times, we feel that someone “beat us to it,” that is, they’ve declared the message before we have.

However, your heart-message delivers FAR MORE than mere information. You provide unique insight, because you relay that information from a unique perspective.

Your perspective matters, because you matter.

There are people who need YOUR VERSION of what you say & do— even if others do the same thing.
