Consistency + Time = Trust

branding websites May 11, 2023

A few years ago I stumbled across the following graphic, highlighting the reality that trust is built by  consistency and time. The more consistent we are over the long haul, the greater level of trust people place in us.

Here’s the bad news: trust takes time. It doesn’t come instantly.

That said, here’s the good news: as trust grows, spending more money for your products becomes the logical next step for people who are engaged in your funnel.

Note…

As such, don’t think only about your book or the podcast or the course, consider the value of a customer over the long-haul.

Your goal should be to build a brand that is so magnet that people begin looking for you, anticipating your next post, podcast, or email blast. Furthermore, your look and feel— your brand— should be so consistent that people readily recognize you when they see your content and naturally move in closer.

In part 2 of the Amplify framework you’ll learn to how to utilize opt-ins on your website to collect a visitor’s contact info and then continue delivering value to them, over time, such that trust quickly escalates. As you build your ecosystem, one of your primary goals is to keep the person engaged over the long-haul. And, you want to do this with a series of intentional touches, over time.

If we flip the time and trust graphic like this…  we have a funnel.

We’ll talk more about funnels in the chapter about websites. For now, understand that our goal is to move people into the funnel, for it’s in the funnel that they engage with free content, then begin making purchase. And, the highest steps of the stairwell ARE the deepest places in the funnel.  Notice—

The deeper they dive into any of your funnels—

📣  The more intensive the level of training and application becomes

📣  The greater results they can expect

📣  The more access they have to you

📣  The more you can charge

For certain, people will enter your funnel from different points. In fact, here’s an overhead view of what the same funnel above might look like.

In time, you’ll have multiple funnels, multiple entry-points into your ecosystem.
